The center drive hub is not mounted solid to the solid steel plate. Most commonly you will see a spring-loaded assembly.
SOLID
The clutch lining is attached directly to the solid steel plate.
BUTTON
The most aggressive clutch material is the bronze, metallic button. It offers extended life using reduced static pressures and a quick, clean engagement.
