When you need a new Crankshaft Dampener for your Case IH® Tractor, Abilene Machine has you covered.
Engine vibrations are more than annoyances, they can wreak havoc on your motor. The dampener, also called a harmonic balancer, works to absorb torsional vibrations generated by the stresses applied to the crankshaft as each combustion event forces the pistons and rods downward, rotating the crank.
Usually, manufacturers design engine dampeners with rubber to absorb these harmonic vibrations. When that rubber deteriorates, the balancer becomes less and less effective at dissipating harmful vibrations, allowing them to travel through the crankshaft and cause damage.
On some designs, the rubber cushion between the inner and outer parts of the dampener will lose adhesion, allowing the outer ring to move out of place and throw the engine out of balance.
When your harmonic balancer goes bad, you'll notice more engine vibration, and noises at different RPM, caused by the crank at resonating at certain frequencies.
If you regularly inspect your balancer, watch out for deteriorating or misshaped rubber. If you catch it early, you can prevent serious engine damage to the crankshaft, bearings, and even the valvetrain.
When you install a replacement dampener from us, you know you're getting a quality aftermarket part that will keep your engine operating like the OEM intended.
