When it comes to new seat options at Abilene Machine, we have several viable options in the Grammer family of award winning replacement seats → 742, 741 and 731. What are the differences between the three seat tops you ask? We’ll carefully go through the specifications of the 731 seat assembly from Grammer, below.
The 731 Black/Gray Matrix is an excellent option as a replacement seat to accompany the air suspension or mechanical suspension in your Case IH® tractor! The 731 is a budget friendly option for a replacement seat. We offer this seat top because we understand the high level of comfort that farmers and ranchers demand at an affordable price.
A 17.50” backrest and a 20.50” wide seat cushion separate this replacement seat from its close relatives, the 742 and the 741. The seat provides maximum comfort with adjustable lumbar support and a backrest that reclines from -10° to +24°. Folding armrests make entering and exiting the seat a breeze.
Abilene Machine has made it incredibly easy to install with our ‘Plug & Play’ system. Your new tractor seat can be easily installed on a Grammer Suspension or your factory suspension with our installation kit. Our kit allows you to plug the Operator Presence Switch directly into your machine without causing any damage by dangerously splicing into your wiring harness.
When it comes to managing your in-cab comfort, we hope you’ll give us, Abilene Machine®, a chance to exceed your needs with this replacement suspension. We have several viable options within the Grammer family of award winning seating systems.
As far as suspension goes, there are 7 options to choose from. Which system you choose should be based on what will fit in your machine (John Deere®, Case IH®, etc.) and what feature(s) you desire. We will carefully go through the specifications and features of the MSG85, below.
Measuring the seat-well of your machine (the distance between the fenders) is a good start to determining what suspension is right for you and your tractor seat. The MSG85 has a frame width of 11.75” x 15.25”. If the dimensions of the MSG85 will fit your seat-well, the next thing to consider is if you desire a mechanical or pneumatic suspension. The MSG85, a mechanical suspension, is a very budget friendly option for a replacement suspension. The MSG85 offers similar features and benefits to Grammer’s MSG95 (Pneumatic Suspension) at a significantly lesser price point.
There are two ways to adjust the ride, the Height Adjustment and the Flip-Handle. To navigate through the 3 height settings, simply lift the seat upward until you hear it click. That is the first setting. If you continue to lift the seat, you will soon find the 2nd and 3rd setting. Continuing to lift past the 3rd setting will reset the suspension back down to the 1st setting. While sitting in your seat, rotate the Flip-handle to adjust the suspension and move the dial on the Weight-Indicator to the desired spot.
